WORKADAY TIP #75: Double Knot Tricks

Double knotting your exercise shoes is good for a number of reasons.   You won't have to stop during a workout to re-tie them and you won't risk tripping on a lace.  These are both time savers.

The one problem, howeverm is double knots also waste time.  If you are in a rush to get to work after a workout, untieing a double knot will waste precious seconds of an already chaotic morning.

So, at the end of my workout, when I am stretching, I untie the double knots.  By doing this and loosening the ties I can quickly slip off my shoes and not lose any time!

WORKADAY TIP #74: Wash In Cold Water

Wash dark and bright colored clothing in cold water.  There will be many benefits.

• You will save money by extending the life of your clothing.  Hot water fades colors.
• You will save energy by using cold water instead of hot water.

Plus, you may even save some time by shopping a little bit less.... Who am I kidding - no one wants to shop less!

WORKADAY TIP #73: Clean As You Cook

After a big meal all you want to do is relax.  The last thing you want to do is spend the next hour cleaning pots, pans and cooking utensils.

So rather than leaving all of clean-up until after dinner, why not wash what you can while you cook.  You can basically clean anything that you don't need to serve your meal.  

Not only will you save time but it will be such a relief to only have to wash your dinner plates and some silverware at the end of your meal.  

WORKADAY TIP #72: Pick Up As You Go

When you leave a room, take something with you.

Next time you get up, look around you. I bet there is something that you could put away as you go. For example,

• Grab a glass and put in the dishwasher

• Throw the mail in the recyling bin

• Pick up a jacket and hang it up

By doing these types of things as you go, you'll reduce the amount of time each day that you spend putting thing away. 

WORKADAY TIP #71: Pay Online = Make Money

Paying bills online provide a bunch of savings - Time, Money, Environment.  What I bet you don't know is you can also make money by paying bills online. 

What's the trick?  DON'T PAY YOUR BILLS EARLY

I know.  You are thinking that paying your bills early is this responsible thing to do.  The reality is that no one is giving out prizes for the one that pays their bill first. 

So how do you make money?  By paying your bills when they are due means you get to hang on to your money longer which means you will earn more interest from your bank.

The longer your money is in your account, the more interest you will earn.  So schedule your payment a day or two before it's due (this insures that it gets processed on time so you don't incur late charges) but no more than that.   This way you will make as much as possible on your money before your have to hand it over.
